With Sam taking on the beer mantle from dad Mark, though you will still find him partaking of a pint in the Tap House; the real heart of the operation.
A place where the team’s passion for the products meets the people who are equally passionate about enjoying these award-winning ales and ciders, literally straight from the kettle.
And with the ale range expanded now to include Ciders, Soft Drinks and even our own Mulled Wine – whatever your choice of tipple you can raise a glass of our craft.

Being Devon born and bred, we believe totally in the concept of local, in terms of quality, consistency, accessibility and community.
And now being able to offer award-winning ciders and soft drinks, along with the consistently recognised ales, the South Hams Drinks range is being enjoyed in more pubs, restaurants and retail outlets year on year.

Over the Years
2002
Founded
Sutton Brewery relocated to Stokeley into converted milking parlour and dairy.
2014
Rebrand
South Hams Brewery undergoes complete rebranding exercise across all elements of the company.
2015
SIBA Gold Award
The Wild Blonde ale received the SIBA Gold Award at Tucker’s Maltings premier ale competition and festival, South West.
2017
SIBA Accredition
Full SIBA accreditation awarded. Output capacity reached at original brewery… planning application for new facility submitted.
2018
Taphouse opened
New purpose built brewing facility comes on line.
2019
Acquisition of Ashridge Ciders & Soft Drinks
The brewery becomes a fully fledged drinks company with the acquisition of Ashridge Cider & Soft Drinks business.
2020
Cider & Soft Drinks Update
A brand new look is unveiled for the Ciders and Soft Drinks ranges, replacing the existing Ashridge styling.
2022
Launch of Salcombe Toast ale in partnership with Bakehouse Salcombe
2023
Awards galore including 2 very big ones!
